To achieve our goal of educating and inspiring our listeners, we focus on instilling in our singers both the skills and sensitivity needed to communicate the beauty and life of the music they sing. This involves training in sight-singing, vocal production, lyric diction, and attentiveness to blend and union of voices.
Educational opportunities are available in a variety of forms (expanding), including individual voice lessons, a Boy Choir, and the principal ensemble, the Psalterium Chamber Choir. In addition, there will be regular offerings of educational lectures for the public on topics ranging from general music and fine arts, to architecture and acoustics, to monasticism and church history.
Finally, there is a planned program of training and certification available for church musicians focused on imparting the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully lead parish music ensembles and plan music according to their abilities and in the context of the Liturgical Year. Offerings will include certification for cantors, organists, and music directors.
